Incarnate Word Academy Foundation

The Incarnate Word Academy Foundation was established in 1989. The Foundation is committed to the following: 1) scholarships and tuition assistance grants; 2) professional growth and benefits; 3) education for the future; and 4) enhancement and renovation of the physical plant. Currently, the market value of the Foundation is approximately $2.4 million. The long-range goal is to build it to $20 million. At this time, the foundation can fund only scholarships and grants. The other priorities will be fulfilled as the Foundation grows. Gifts include the following:

Scholarships
Scholarships are important to the school's ability to recruit a talented and diverse student body. Gifts may be contributed to the general scholarship fund or to an endowed scholarship fund and may be offered in memory or honor of a loved one.

An endowed scholarship is a permanent fund and requires a minimum gift of $10,000. Typically, there is a three to five year funding period. The scholarship will be distributed annually from investment earnings once the scholarship is fully funded.

Honor/Memorial
Memorials are gifts contributed to the Incarnate Word Academy Foundation that are made in memory of a loved one at the time of death. Many friends of the school choose to honor the memory of a loved one through a memorial gift.

Academic Chair
An Academic Chair is established with a gift to the Incarnate Word Academy Foundation as a permanent fund. The income from this fund can provide supplement for the chair person's salary, the salary of other department faculty members, and additional income for supplemental programming that enhances the climate for academic excellence. Promoting a high level of commitment to faculty and staff training and curriculum development is essential to Incarnate Word Academy's future as a school focused on academic success.
