Connie Cadena, Advancement Director

Connie Cadena joined the Incarnate Word Academy as the Advancement Administrative Assistant in 1994. After six years in that position, she served one year as the Assistant Advancement Director before assuming her current position as Advancement Director.

Prior to her employment at IWA, Mrs. Cadena worked for the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau promoting the city and its attraction as a meeting destination.

Mrs. Cadena, a Corpus Christi native, is married to Luis and has three sons. Her oldest son is a 2002 graduate of IWA. Her two younger sons attend IWA's middle and elementary levels.

JoAnn Davila - Advancement Administrative Assistant

JoAnn Davila joined IWA in 1998 as a database specialist.  In 2002, JoAnn assumed her current role as the advancement administrative assistant.  Prior to joining IWA’s advancement team, she worked as a data entry manager for a software company in Chandler, AZ.

Born in Texas, JoAnn was raised in Arizona but returned to her home state to raise her three children.

Joe Fish - Database Specialist

Joe Fish joined Incarnate Word Academy as the Database Specialist in 2006.

After serving in the Air Force for 5-1/2 years, Mr. Fish moved to Houston. Prior to his employment at IWA, Mr. Fish worked for four years in the Development Office for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

Elda Garcia - Marketing and Enrollement Management Director

Elda Garcia joined Incarnate Word Academy as the Marketing and Enrollment Management Coordinator in July, 2004.

Prior to her employment at IWA, Mrs. Garcia worked for Corpus Christi Medical Center in the Human Resources and Education Department for 10 years.

Mrs. Garcia, a Corpus Christi native, and her husband, Lonnie, are the parents of a 2006 graduate and have one son currently attending IWA high school.

Lori Cruz - Alumni Clerical Assistant

Lori Cruz joined Incarnate Word Academy in June of 2006 as the Alumni Assistant.

Lori was born and raised in Corpus Christi.  She has a background in Visual Communications & Design.  Recently, Lori attended Del Mar College in pursuit of a degree in Advertising/Public Relations.

She studied Art in Houston where she met and married her husband of nine years, Anthony.  They returned to Corpus Christi as a family, 6 years ago, and have three children who will be attending IWA this school year at the Elementary Level.

Sister Martha Ann Snapka - Planned Giving Director

Sister Martha Ann Snapka is a graduate and Past President of Incarnate Word Academy. As director, she presents information concerning wills and estate planning, visits donors and prospects, and recognizes donors for their partnership in the mission. Since 1968 she has served on campus as a teacher; high school registrar and counselor; and principal of the middle and secondary levels.

Sister Martha Ann earned her bachelor’s degree in social studies from St. Edward’s University in Austin and her master’s degree in education at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. She is certified as an elementary and secondary teacher, counselor, and administrator.
