Choosing the right college or university is one of the most important decisions a student and his/her parents will make. Incarnate Word Academy understands that families may not be able to tour every college campus of interest. With that in mind, our Academic Counseling Office works hard to bring representatives from a wide range of excellent colleges and universities to our campus to meet students in person.

College Planning Calendar


It is time to begin the FAFSA process! FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It is the federal application that parents and students must complete in order to determine the amount of financial help colleges will expect the family to provide for their child's college education. To assist families with the FAFSA process, IWA will host: Financial Aid Parent Information Night Workshop DATE: Thursday, January 26th LOCATION: College & Career Guidance Center (CCGC) TIME: 6 - 7:30 p.m. Conducting the workshop will be Joseph Ruiz, Assistant Financial Aid Director with TAMU Corpus Christi. Mr. Ruiz has a great deal of experience with financial aid for college and will be able guide you through the process, as well as answer any of your questions. Criteria to Attend
College Visit Presentations:

All seniors are invited to attend college visits if they have the period off during the scheduled presentation time.

Seniors who are in class during the presentation time must speak with Mrs. Witt for a pass in order to attend.

Juniors who are interested in attending college visits must see Mrs. Witt to request a pass from class.

Juniors must be passing the requested class and may not have excessive absences or any incomplete work.

All students may visit with college representatives who do lunchtime presentations in the cafeteria.

Parents are always welcome to attend any college visit presentation.
