Many schools also ask for letters of recommendation. Sometimes the institution supplies ready-to-fill-in forms and sometimes they do not. It’s important to give your recommenders plenty of time to write your recommendation--at least two weeks. Additionally provide your recommenders with a brief personal information fact sheet about you. This helps recommenders know more about you and enables them to craft well-developed letter of recommendation. When asking for a recommendation, include a plain envelope with the following written or typed on the front: "Recommendation for (your name) at (college name)."
