Middle Level

Continuing the Tradition

Fostering Community Service

Students are required to contribute 12 hours of volunteer service per year. Among such services are the following:

  • Adopting families at Christmas
  • Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Drive for Catholic Social Services
  • Collecting clothes and food for missions in Mexico
  • Collecting Toys For Tots
  • Working at the Children's Booth at Harbor Lights
  • Monetary donations made to local and international orphanages
  • Book and video drive for Driscoll Children's Hospital
  • Activities to support our Armed Services

Encouraging Distinction

  • Fifty-seven percent of the middle level faculty holds a Master's Degree
  • Mean score for middle level on the Metropolitan Achievement Test at 73 rd percentile
  • P.S.I.A. (Parochial Schools Interscholastic Association) participation in San Antonio resulted in eligibility of eight students competing at the state level
  • Two middle level students placed at the state level competition in P.S.I.A.
  • Thirty-six 7 th graders honored as Duke University Scholars by scoring above the 95 th percentile in selected sub-tests of the Metropolitan Achievement Test
  • Nine 7 th grade Duke University Scholars honored for state recognition for their SAT/ACT scores
  • History Fair winners consistently compete and place at both Regional and State levels
  • Three first place and Best Project winners at Diocesan Science Fair
  • First place winner at Coastal Bend Science Fair

Admission Criteria

  • Open to individuals of any race, national/ethnic origin, or gender
  • Required registration materials including report cards and objective test results
  • Recommendations from previous school/teachers
  • Interview by the principal with new parent(s) and student

Financial Information

  • Tuition for 2004-2005: $5,200
  • Registration fee: $500
  • Subsidy for Middle Level: $100
    The subsidy is paid by the parish if the parish agrees to subsidize active, registered, contributing members. If the parish does not pay the subsidy, it will be the responsibility of the family to pay the subsidy at the time the registration fee is paid.
  • Tuition can be paid annually, semi-annually, or monthly. Tuition assistance is available for students who demonstrate financial need.
  • FAMILY RATE: First student-Full tuition
    $100 yearly reduction in tuition for each additional sibling

IWA President's Award

A $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to new students entering 6 th , 7 th , and 9 th grades who have achieved a 90 or above first semester average and who can demonstrate evidence of Christian service and leadership to school, parish and/or community. (Renewable)
