The team continued their undefeated streak with a 2-1 win against Katy’s St. John XXIII College Preparatory High School in the TAPPS Bi-District Playoffs. The team also defeated the defending state champion — Houston's Lutheran South Academy 4-3 in the TAPPS Regional Playoffs. These wins advanced the Lady Angels to compete in the TAPPS State Semi Finals against Sugar Land's Fort Bend Christian Academy. The TAPPS State Semi Finals ended 4-7. | Middle Level Inducts Students into National Junior Honor Society A number of sixth, seventh, and eighth graders were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society on May 13, 2016. | Elementary Level Celebrates Crowning of Mary with Rosary The elementary level celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima with the Crowning of Mary on May 11, 2016 in the IWA Chapel. Students processed with flowers and a crown to honor Mary as the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ. | Varsity Baseball Team Continues to Eye State After Season Ends The Angel varsity baseball team had a remarkable season that led them to the playoffs with a second place rank in district. The team defeated Katy's St. Johns XXIII College Preparatory High School 6-3 at the TAPPS Bi-District Playoffs — advancing them to the TAPPS Area Playoffs against Austin's St. Michael's Catholic Academy. Despite their team efforts and strong will, the Angels fell to the Crusaders with a final score of 6-10. Looking back at the baseball team's season, the Angels proved to be the team that will define the future of the program: a hard-nose, team-first, process-driven program that will keep their eyes on a state title and continue to work their way up the ladder of success. | Student Places at PSIA State Meet Sixth grader Olivia D'Anna received honorable mention in the on-site drawing category at the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) State Meet on April 30, 2016. The meet was held at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

| Classroom Transforms into Living Wax Museum Traditional and Montessori fifth graders transformed the James R. Dougherty, Jr. Center into a living wax museum on May 5, 2016. | Angels Place at TAPPS State Track and Field Meet Several high school level students placed at the TAPPS State Track and Field Championship on May 7, 2016. Cesar Hernandez made the All-State Track Team and McKenzie McCoy made the All-State Honorable Mention Track Team. In addition, Cesar broke the school record in the 200 meter run. He now holds the most school records in track: 200 meter run in 2016 (21.92), 400 meter run in 2015 (49.69), 4 X 200 relay in 2014 (1:33.1) and 4X400 relay in 2014 (3:28.57). | Students Place at TAPPS State Golf Tournament in Temple Junior William Teichman IV earned fourth place with a two-day score of 153 at the TAPPS State Golf Tournament on May 3, 2016 in Temple. In the girls' division, IWA junior Mikaela Rendon earned seventh place with a two-day score of 173. Both William and Mikaela were named to the All-State Golf Team. | Angels Participate in St. Jude Research Hospital’s Math-A-Thon Elementary level students participated in the St. Jude Research Hospital’s Math-A-Thon throughout the year and raised $3,007. Several students completed the math program and earned a medal.

| Club Donates Homemade Blankets to Linus Project Middle level students from the school's Junior Optimist Club created six homemade blankets this school year to donate to those in need. The students presented the blankets to Dee Labay from the Linus Project on May 5, 2016. The Linus Project is a nonprofit organization that provides blankets to children of all ages who have experienced loss or a traumatic event. View Media Coverage: South Texas Catholic

| Musical Theatre History Revue Features Musical Performances Need a free night out with some great entertainment? The high school level theatre arts department will present “Musical Theatre History Revue” on May 19, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. The performance will be held in the Mother Patricia Gunning Gymnasium. Audience members will enjoy scenes from various Broadway shows and musicals.

| School Holds Retirement Ceremony for Physics Teacher Ray Perrone has taught physics at IWA for 30 years. Students and his colleagues agree that he makes learning physics a fun adventure in the classroom. This past November, Mr. Perrone was one of the many Angel faculty and staff members to be recognized for his years of service in Catholic education at the Diocesan Catholic Educators' Conference (DCEC). Mr. Perrone, who will retire at the end of the school year, will be honored with a tree dedication ceremony for shaping the minds of students at IWA. The ceremony will be held on June 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in front of the IWA Chapel. Students, parents, faculty, staff, and alumni are all welcome to attend.

| Summer Camps Provide Fun for Students of All Ages Students are invited to participate in several of our summer camps. These camps allow students to practice positive attitudes, leadership skills, pride of accomplishment, loyalty to others, and self-discipline. Summer camps also encourage cooperation and teamwork, while allowing students to have a ton of fun!
