JOIN THE FUN DURING OUR HOMECOMING EVENTS!

Mark your calendars and make plans to attend all of our fun Homecoming festivities beginning Thursday, November 16th!

Our campus-wide family events will include several new activities for this year including a campus parade beginning on Alameda Street. Afterward join us alongside Austin Street for a block party featuring several popular food truck vendors, live music, and much more! The evening will culminate in a pep rally followed by the traditional Burning of the "A" Ceremony.

This will lead up to our Friday events where we will continue the celebration by cheering on our alumni athletes and our IWA Varsity team! Instead of paying for admission, remember to bring a new stuffed toy to participate in our second annual Toy Toss benefiting the Ark Assessment Center & Emergency Shelter for Youth!

ELEMENTARY LEVEL CELEBRATES ASTROS WIN WITH STEAM FUN

In celebration of the Houston Astros' big win, fifth graders in Mr. Boostrom's class had some fun converting standard units of measurement into "Altuves," based on the famous stature of the Astros' second baseman Jose Altuve. Students created "Altuve" measuring sticks and measuring tapes to record the dimensions of the Elementary Level playground. Once the measurements were recorded, they were broken down into reduced fractions so Angels could figure out just how many "Altuves" it would take to circle around the playground.

MIXING STEAM INTO THE CLASS

Elementary Level - Montessori students in Mrs. Quintana's STEAM class were tasked with the challenge of mixing their own mortar out of clay, soil, and sand. The students determined their own material ratios with the goal to make mortar strong enough to build a wall of rocks. Their walls were then tested to determine what mixtures held up best against a miniature wrecking ball.
