Secondary Level Gift of Service

Parish Service

  • teach CCD programs in parishes or serve as teacher assistants
  • volunteer at vacation Bible School
  • act as altar servers
  • assist with the preparation of new altar servers
  • serve as cantors in church choirs
  • sing in their parish choirs
  • assist with parish festivals, setting up booths, running booths and cleaning up

Middle Level Gift of Service

  • National Junior Honor Society conducts a tutoring program each Wednesday.

  • held a fund raiser for the New York firefighters

  • make donations to PeeWee's Animal Shelter
  • hold a talent show for residents of Mount Carmel Retirement Home
  • Junior Engineering and Technical Society (JETS) built scientific collecting gear for use by the club for projects, then donated them to the Middle Level Science Department.
  • Junior Optimist Club members participate as helpers in the Children's Tent at Harbor Lights
  • adopted a family for Christmas
  • make valentines for cancer patients at Driscoll Children's Hospital
  • Project One and One involves bringing one dollar and one selection of clothing or accessories to clothe the needy. Money collected goes to the Salvation Army and Catholic Charities.
  • eighth grade religion classes include service projects in their preparations for the school-wide Masses.
  • students bring flowers for presentation at Mass on special feasts.
  • students contributed to the President's request that school children donate $1.00 each to the children in Afghanistan .
  • following the September 11 tragedy, students wrote prayers for the people involved and for the country. The prayers were placed beneath the altar at Mass and used over the P.A. system.

  • donated $237.51 to the President's Fund for Children in Afghanistan
  • through the Thanksgiving Service Project items such as deodorants, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, toilet tissue, paper towels, household cleaning supplies, laundry soap, diapers, baby powder and baby wipes, were donated to the Corpus Christi Hope House
  • turkey & hams were delivered to twelve families from Holy Cross Parish
  • 5th graders donated painted flower pots to senior citizens at Mount Carmel Home
  • collected new toys for the Coastal Bend Area "Toys for Tots"
  • donated $1,606.95 to St. Jude's Cancer Research Hospital
  • Girls Scouts collected new underwear for the Corpus Christi Department of Protective & Regulatory Services
