MES 4th and 5th Grades

Hello Angels,

My name is Robert Boostrom and I teach MES 4th and 5th Grades at the Elementary Level. You may contact me at boostromr@iwacc.org if you have any questions.

I have spent over 15 years teaching, all in Catholic Schools. I also taught summer school for three years in college with Breakthrough Collaborative in Fort Worth and San Jose, California. I've been an instruction coach at Breakthrough Houston in recent summers.

I think it's wonderful that we can recognize that everyone is created in the image and likeness of God. Everyone has a unique perspective - ways of understanding things, ways of solving problems, life experiences to share - that is important and valuable for our community. Learning to appreciate and respect each other (and the rest of Creation) is foundational to learning about everything else. I feel awe and wonder whenever I read a good book or see an interesting solution to an engineering problem or recognize a pattern in a set of numbers. I hope I model that.

Fun Facts:

I've been to every state but Hawaii at least 2 times. I've driven or taken a train across the country about a dozen times.

Hobbies:

Poetry/Reading, Traveling/Camping - I'm interested in biology and geology, Plants, Astros/Cowboys/Spurs/Longhorns fan, Art/Design (drawing, 3d modeling), Going to Concerts.

What I love about IWA:

I like being part of a community and seeing different perspectives on the community as I've been a member in different roles.
