Colleen Duzich

Hello Angels,

My name is Colleen Duzich and I teach Pre-AP Biology, Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC), Science for Grades 7-8 at the Middle Level. You may contact me at duzichc@iwacc.org if you have any questions.

Who motivates me:

My daughter motivates me to be re-evaluate my methods and incorporate new methodologies. 

Why I decided to become a teacher:

I wanted to help develop a passion and love for science in young people.

Chemistry gives us a fundamental understanding of the world and how it functions naturally and in manmade environments. My students will leave my classroom with a greater understanding of the scientific world they live in.

Fun Facts:

I grew in South East Asia and various Pacific Islands. I owned my own offshore fishing fleet. I've been to 45 of the 50 states and hope to visit the other 5 post-COVID.

Hobbies:

I like RV'ing with friends and visiting National and State Parks. I enjoy reading mysteries and thrillers. I have 1 dog, 3 cats, and a grand-dog.

What I love about IWA:

The Catholic community and the since of family. IWA is a wonderful place and I've enjoyed the relationships I've built with generations of families.
