Incarnate Word Academy students are encouraged to grow through a variety of extracurricular clubs and activities. Our Mission Team helps students lay the foundation of their faith, our coaches help students to grow in leadership and life skills, and our club sponsors encourage growth in creativity, imagination, and exploration.

Nanette DeGaish

STEM Teacher

BACKGROUND

I attended Texas State University and received a B S in Education. I am certified in Early Childhood and grades K-6th and Language Arts in 7th and 8th grades. I have several graduate hours in Early Childhood and English.

I have taught 29 years in PK-6th grade in public and private schools.

I have a book on Amazon entitled The Best Big Bad Wolf Story Ever.

CLASSROOM PHILOSOPHY

As the teacher I need to be clear and consistent and give a multitude of opportunities for my students to succeed and to fail, to watch and listen and to love my students as my own. My students need to watch and listen and create and to love me as their own.

HOBBIES & TALENTS

I love reading, writing and I’m going to learn to play golf.

IWA has been so welcoming to me from the first time I stepped into the office and attending Mass; I could feel the presence of God here.
