Welcome to Angel Athletics

Incarnate Word Academy boasts a proud and storied athletics tradition, with 59 state championships earned across a wide range of sports. As a member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS), IWA offers student-athletes the opportunity to compete at high levels while growing in discipline, leadership, and teamwork.

From the Elementary Level, students are encouraged to join athletic teams and begin learning the foundational values of teamwork, commitment, and accountability. As they advance to Middle Level, those same values are further developed and tested through increased competition, greater responsibility, and a deeper focus on personal and team growth. With a variety of varsity and sub-varsity teams available, our student-athletes are supported and motivated to participate in multiple sports throughout the academic year.

IWA offers a broad selection of sports to meet the interests and passions of our students. These include football, cross country, volleyball, basketball, soccer, swimming, softball, track & field, tennis, golf, and cheerleading. Our comprehensive program ensures that every student has the opportunity to explore their athletic potential.

Our programs are guided by experienced and dedicated coaches who not only bring knowledge and passion to their sport but also serve as mentors—committed to nurturing moral character, spiritual growth, and personal excellence in every athlete.
