February 5, 2020 | Angel eNews Open House Brings Current and Prospective Families Together The Mother Patricia Gunning Gymnasium was buzzing with excitement during last week's Word 101 Open House and Student Showcase on January 29th. We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who was in attendance, especially our Angel volunteers who gave outstanding performances and shared their IWA experiences with our guests.
Mark Your Calendars for Paradise Island Join us for a fun evening that includes spectacular specialty auctions, complimentary beer and wine, a scrumptious dinner, dancing to live music by "The Grooves" of Austin, and a chance to win the 2020 raffle (need not be present). Complimentary valet parking and a cash bar are also available.
As IWA's signature fundraiser, Paradise Island supports the Educational Initiatives Fund to provide critical tuition assistance, enriched academic and athletic programs, facility and technology enhancements, and professional development for our faculty and staff.

Families Gather in their Angel's Classrooms on Grandparents Day Thank you to all of the family and friends who were able to visit for our Elementary Level Grandparents Day celebration. We are more than happy to provide our families with opportunities to see what their Angels do in the classroom.

IWA Swim: 11 Automatic Qualifiers at TAPPS State Qualifying Meet Congratulations to our High School Level Swim Team. The Boy's team brought home the 3rd place plaque and the Girl's team took 4th place at the TAPPS Central Regional Region State Qualifying Meet. The team also had 11 Automatic State qualifiers. Way to go, Angels!
Little Angels Dress for their Dream Jobs on Career Day Elementary Level students celebrated Career Day during National Catholic Schools Week by dressing up for their future careers and meeting with local professionals to learn about their fields. Thank you to all of our visitors for sharing your time and insight with our Angels, and providing engaging sessions.

Elementary Level Holds Baby Shower for Hope House Donations The Elementary Level was overwhelmed by our community's generosity by donating to the Baby Shower for Hope House and the Gabriel Project during National Catholic Schools week. The Elementary Level office and faculty lounges were completely filled with donated baby supplies. Thank you to everyone who participated in this Baby Shower drive.

Expectant Mothers Celebrated During Campus Wide Mass National Catholic Schools Week began with Campus Wide Mass on Monday, January 27th in the Mother Patricia Gunning Gymnasium. To commemorate the importance of mothers and to celebrate the January Gospel Value of Respect, expectant mothers in the IWA community received a blessing and special gift during Mass.

High School Level Students Share their Favorite Spanish Fairy Tales Students in Señora Melva García's High School Level Spanish 4 class recently rewrote their favorite fairy tales in Spanish. The students visited Elementary Level classrooms during National Catholic Schools Week to share their stories with our Little Angels.

Fourth Annual Toy Toss Benefits Toys for Tots Thank you to everyone who joined us at our 4th Annual Toy Toss Game on January 17th. We appreciate you coming out to support our Angels and generously giving over 430 stuffed toys to Toys for Tots.

Elementary Level Students Celebrate 100 Days of School On January 22nd, students at the Elementary Level celebrated their 100th Day of School. Our Angels wore custom decorated shirts, crowns, and glasses for their 100th day of school, and teachers joined the fun by wearing matching "100 Days of Awesome" t-shirts.

Middle Level Hosts Annual Geography Bee Congratulations to Paul McNiff for winning the Middle Level Geography Bee. We're proud of our Angels for doing a wonderful job during this year's competition.

Valentine's Day Parents' Night Out Enjoy a child-free date night while your Angel enjoys snacks, crafts, and faith-filled fun with our IWA High School missionaries. All ages are welcome, as long as they are potty-trained. The cost is $25 per child, and helps the HS Mission Trip. To pre-register, please email cartwrighta@iwacc.org.
Elementary Level Swim Program Our Elementary Level swim program, coached by Myra "Mic" Nelson has been a great success. Several of Elementary Level swimmers have competed in State swim meets. Alessandra Dalton, Marcelo Garcia, Corina Cisneros, and Carlotta Cisneros have competed in several meets this year and recently travelled to Pearland to swim in the TAAF Winter Games of Texas.
