Sandra Ledesma
Welcome to Incarnate Word Academy Elementary!
My name is Sandra M. Ledesma and I am my happiest teaching first grade.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Corpus Christi State University. I have 28 years of teaching experience in Catholic schools. I began my teaching career as a first-grade teacher at Most Precious Blood Catholic School and decided to stay home once my daughter was born. After being a stay-at-home mom for four years, it was time to get back into the classroom and IWA is where I have been since January of 1994.
My husband, Michael and I just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. Time has a way of flying by way too fast. We are blessed with a beautiful daughter, Lauren who is an IWA graduate and currently resides in San Antonio, Texas.
Teaching at a Catholic school has been one of my greatest gifts. When I walk into my classroom and see my angels, I am reminded that there are so many beautiful reasons to be happy. When my first graders leave my room, I want them to know that they are loved and God’s most precious gift.
- TRAVELING! I enjoy traveling with my husband and meeting different people. We are hoping to make Alaska and Hawaii our next two trips.
- BAKING! I am most relaxed when I’m baking desserts for my family and friends.
- GARDENING! My garden is filled with beautiful flowers - roses, irises, and hydrangeas. I am currently trying to grow Meyer Lemon trees. I started with seeds and currently have many seedlings that are ready to be planted in the ground.
- VOLUNTEERING! Mike and I are involved with the Pan American Golf Association that awards monetary scholarships to deserving students. I also help with the Junior Golf Program that offers free lessons to children during the summer … it is so much fun!
- RELAXING! My most relaxing time is spending time with my family and relaxing at the beach.
