Head Girls Basketball Coach

Hello Angels,

My name is Malcolm Smith and I am the Head Girls Basketball Coach at the High School Level.

I graduated from Louisiana Tech with a BS in Data Processing in 1968. I also have 20+ hours toward a Masters Degree from SMU. I've been at IWA for 30 years and coached girls' basketball the last 11 years.

I want the girls to work on the court, enjoy the game, have fun playing the game and learn to love the game.

Hobbies:

I love to play golf with my two sons.

I play 3 on 3 basketballs with friends here in town and play in the National Senior Games every 2 years with a team of old guys.

Fun Facts:

I have 3 children and 2 step children, who all graduated from IWA.

I have 10 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. The oldest two grandsons are engineers who also graduated from Louisiana Tech and my youngest is 4 years old.

What I love about IWA:

I moved to Corpus Christi when my daughter was a sophomore and my older son was a freshmen. After 2 days at IWA it was like they had been there for years. What a blessing! IWA offers an environment where if one applies themselves they can get a great education and participate in other extracurricular activities such as sports, music, art, etc. A true family atmosphere.
