Jerrie Barker

The High School Level is excited to welcome Mrs. Jerrie Barker to the Math Department as a Pre-Calculus Pre-AP, and Calculus Teacher. Mrs. Barker comes to IWA with a wealth of experience.

Mrs. Barker is a Corpus Christ native. She is a proud “Fighting Ray Texan graduate.” She continued her education at Corpus Christi State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and History and a Master of Science in Computer Science. Throughout her career, she has been an Educator, Consultant, Mentor and an Advisor.

Her teaching career has spanned from teaching Mathematics at Ray High School, Martin Jr. High School, Home School Coop and King High School while also serving as Math Department Chair, NHS Sponsor and Academic Decathlon Sponsor. Mrs. Barker has been a Math Consultant with Addison Corporation, written Academic Standards for King High School, written Math Curriculum for CCISD.  

One student who had had Mrs. Barker as a teacher has said, “Mrs. Barker has changed me as a student forever. Everyone in her class is always actively engaged. There is always room at the board for everyone in the class to work on problems. Because of Mrs. Barker's class, I earned a degree in Mathematics and I am a math teacher.” Mrs. Barker has also taught many of the Calculus teachers in Corpus Christi!
