Elementary Level Swimming

The Elementary Level swim program has been successful this year. Several of our Elementary Level swimmers have competed in State swim meets this year. They have the strength and determination to back up their swims.

Alessandra Dalton, Marcelo Garcia, Corina and Carlotta Cisneros have competed in several meets this year. They did a great job at the championship meets. Traveling to Pearland, they swam in the TAAF Winter Games of Texas. Swimmers from around our great State competed.

Alessandra (9-10 girl events) took 5th in the 50 free, improving her time by 4.27 seconds. She grabbed the bronze medal in the 25 breaststroke. Dropping 5.99 seconds in the 100 Individual Medley, she placed 6th. She swam on the 100 Free Relay that touched the pad in 2nd place.

Marcelo (9-10 boy events) took the silver medal in the 25 free, cutting 0.92 seconds from his time. Taking 3rd in the 25 fly, he dropped 3.16 seconds. Shaving 1.85 seconds from his 50 free, he finished in 4th place. He was a member of 2 relays, the 100 Medley that earned him a silver medal and 100 Free that had him on top of the podium with a gold medal.

Corina Gomez-Cisneros, our youngest competitior at age 5, took 6th in the 25 Back cutting her time by 2.67 seconds. She placed 9th in the 25 free, improving her old time by 8.53 seconds. Corina was one of the youngest swimmers in the meet. She competed in the 6 & under events for girls.

Carlotta Gomez-Cisneros just aged up to the 7-8 girl events. It's often difficult to move up, but she did a great job swimming in the new division. She took 11th in the 25 breaststroke, dropping 1.67 seconds. She took 15th in the 50 free and 23rd in the 25 free. This past summer, Carlotta was a medal winner at the TAAF Summer Games of Texas in the 25 free.

These results prove the ongoing success of our Elementary Level swim program. These are just a few of the great swimmers we are developing here at Incarnate Word Academy. We hope to see more little Angels join us to make a splash at the pool.
