On Incarnation Days, High School Level students will be offered a sweet treat after school in the Sr. Catherine Cafe (located outside of the Mother Patricia Gunning Gymnasium) courtesy of Campus Ministry.
Like our Blessed Mother who gave her “Yes” at the Annunciation, Jeanne Chezard de Matel gave her “Yes” when she was asked to establish the Order of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament. She understood that God was calling us to make Jesus, the Incarnate Word, present in our world. All of us have answered the call to continue the Mission of Jesus to establish the Kingdom (reign) of God here on earth while we are here. We have been gifted with the love and joy that enables us to give our “yes.” On March 25th, on the Feast of the Annunciation/Incarnation, we celebrate the acceptance of vocation. This year every 25th day of the month (or the day closest to the 25th), we are inviting you to pray a vocation prayer with your students so as to create a culture of vocation enabling them to pray that God will help them respond to their own call. Below are three prayers that can be used:
To the Father:
Gracious and Loving Father, on this 25th day of the month (or closest to the 25th) we come to You asking You to show us the best way to serve You. On March 25th, we remember that You sent Your Son, the Incarnate Word, to establish Your Kingdom here on earth. Touch our hearts so that we, too, can find our vocation. Guide us in serving You as we continue His mission of building Your Kingdom of love, peace, and joy while we are here on Earth. We ask this through Jesus, the Incarnate Word. Amen.
Incarnate Word, on March 25th we celebrate Your Incarnation, the moment of Mary’s and Your joyful “yes” to Your call. On this 25th day of the month (or closest to the 25th) we pray for guidance as we accept our vocation to bring You into the world. Guide us as we continue Your mission to create God’s Kingdom of peace, hope, and joy as we find ways to serve You in love. In Your name, we pray. Amen.
To the Holy Spirit:
Spirit of God who enlightens and teaches us, be with us in a special way this 25th (or closest to the 25th) day of the month as we remember the Incarnation, and how You were with Mary in her joyful “yes” to bring the Incarnate Word into this world. We recall His willingness to become human to teach us about God in human ways. Be with us today and guide us as we search to find our vocation. Grant us the peace, love, and joy that comes from joining our mission to that of Jesus, the Incarnate Word. May we also work to build the Kingdom of God here on earth. In Your name, we pray. Amen.
