Technology Manager (Full-Time)

Under the guidance of the Director of Campus Operations, the Technology Manager works to advance the overall mission of Incarnate Word Academy through technology. The Technology Manager is responsible for leading the technology department which manages the campus network infrastructure, provides support to end users, and conducts system analysis. In addition, the Technology Manager will oversee the individual campus site technicians and the work order system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Administrative

  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates technology department personnel on use of school software and hardware
  • Provides leadership and direction of priorities and goals for the technology department
  • Plans future upgrades and technology enhancements
  • Ensures the full utilization of system tools and resources by the organizations employees
  • Serves a technical liaison to campus entities for the purpose of communicating or providing support on the efficient and effective use of resources and tools

2. Computer/Networking

  • Oversees and prioritizes maintenance of the organizations hardware and software
  • Evaluates and recommends hardware and software purchases and configurations
  • Administers, maintains, and monitors network servers, client software and hardware
  • Diagnoses network problems and provide solutions under pressure and time constraints
  • Maintains the network infrastructure
  • Manages licenses for all software purchases
  • Ensures security of all network and internet systems
  • Establishes standards for documentation of the network system
  • Preventive/Proactive maintenance of LAN using network management software to avert potential problems
  • Evaluates network performance concerning projected enhancements to network hardware and software
  • Participates in the development of policies, procedures, and resources in relation to the network

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of infrastructure requirements, local and wide area networks, computers and related technologies as they apply to pre K-12 education.
  • General knowledge of resources that support instructional integration of technology
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills • Ability to assist users with software and hardware direction and guidance
  • Ability to lead technology-planning efforts including activities to develop, implement, and evaluate both system and school technology plans • Ability to manage financial resources
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment


  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience

Working Conditions:

  • Full time - 40 hours per week
  • Occasional evening and weekend time may be required to complete projects and resolve technical problems
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to transport heavy computer equipment
  • Must be comfortable with the physical requirements of installing network cables or devices
