Rebeca Martinez ’85 was elected as judge for the Texas Fourth District Court of Appeals on November 6, 2012.
Rebeca currently lives with her family in San Antonio, Texas, where she continues to maintain a general civil trial law, family and criminal litigation practice.
After graduating from IWA, she earned distinction as a University Scholar at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Rebeca received her law degree from Boston University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, and upon graduation was the honored recipient of the Faculty Award.
While in law school, Rebeca earned a coveted spot in BU’s Civil Law Clinic, and in her third year earned a prestigious clerkship at the Boston offices of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo, P.C.
Before entering private practice, she served as a summer law clerk for United States Magistrate Judge Eduardo E. de Ases for the Southern District of Texas.
She also served two years as Briefing Attorney for Justice Federico G. Hinojosa on the Thirteenth Court of Appeals. She is an active member of her church and her community, and spends much of her quality time with family and friends.
