FAQs on Alerts

The Incarnate Word Academy website allows all members of the school community to sign up for email and/or text message alerts* for Campus News, Angels in the News, calendars, and athletic events  – designated with the alerts icon .

*Note: No messages will be sent until a verification code has been entered. Also, alerts are sent at no charge, but you may incur charges from your cellular provider. Most cellular phone companies charge for receiving text messages by a "per message" charge. Make certain that you know your status with your cellular provider before signing up for these notifications.

I'm a Friend/Parent/Student/Family Member, how do I sign up for alerts?

If you are a parent, student, friend, or family member, you will have to create an account in order to sign up for alerts. Please follow the steps below.

New Users

To sign up as a New User:

  1. Click on the alerts icon , which can be found in the top right corner of any calendar, athletic schedule, campus news, or Angels in the news page.
  2. Complete the following fields on the login screen that can be found after clicking on the alerts icon .
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email Address
    • Choose Password
    • Verify Password
  3. Click "Continue"

Login

Once you have created your account, you will enter your username (email address) and password each time you wish to add a new alert or when you wish to change your settings.

  1. To login to manage your profile, you will complete the site login fields with existing login credentials:
    • Username
    • Password
  2. Click "Login"

I'm a Faculty/Staff/School Board/Alumni Member, how do I sign up for alerts?

All Faculty, Staff, School Board, and Alumni Members have a unique login to the Incarnate Word Academy website through the Portals login.

Login

  1. Members of these groups may access their portal login from the Quick Links menu, located in the top right corner of the website.
  2. Enter your Username and Password.
  3. Click "Login"

Forgot Username/Password

  1. If you are unsure of your login, please select the "Forgot your username/password" link, and follow the directions.
  2. If your receive a "No username exists for the specified email address" error, please email webmaster@iwacc.org

How to I manage my account?

When logged in, you will have access to three tabs: My Profile, My Account, and My Subscriptions.

My Profile
This tab will allow you to view and edit your profile. This information will not be shared.

In order to receive a text message alert, you must add a valid text-enabled phone number to the Contact Info area.

My Account
Under the My Account tab, you can update your password.

To update password:

  1. Populate the needed fields:
    • Current Password
    • New Password
    • Confirm New Password
  2. Click the "Update" button.

My Subscriptions
Under the My Subscriptions tab, you can manage current subscriptions and alerts for campus news and Angels in the news articles, athletic team schedules, event reminders, and calendars.

How do I sign up for text alerts*?

When logged in, any of the following can be added to your Alerts Manager:

To add a text enabled phone:

  1. Go to any calendar, Campus News, Angels in the News, lunch menu, or athletic team schedule page mentioned above.
  2. Click the alerts icon  just below the page heading.
  3. Login to manage subscriptions.
  4. Click on the "My Subscriptions" link.
  5. Under Available Delivery Locations, click on
  6. Enter your cell phone number and select your cellular provider.
  7. Click save phone.
  8. Check your cell phone for a text message which will provide you with an Alerts Verification Code.
  9. Under "My Subscriptions," click the red  link.
  10. Enter your Alerts Verification Code that was provided in the text message and click verify.

  3. Login to manage subscriptions.
  • For New Subscriptions:
    • Define the Alert Settings.
      • Email and/or cell phone number
      • Reminder time
      • Cancellations/postponements/changes
      • Click the "Update Settings" button.
  • For Existing Subscriptions:
    • Select the News Alert, Athletic Alert, Event Reminder, or Calendar
    • Define the Alert Settings.
        • Email and/or cell phone number
        • Reminder time
        • Cancellations/postponements/changes
        • Click the "Update Settings" button.

How do I sign up for athletic team alerts?

We would like to encourage you to sign up for email and/or text message alerts* for your child’s athletic team through the Incarnate Word Academy website. These alerts will notify you of upcoming games as well as any game changes, cancellations, and results. You will be able to define your alert settings to adjust how early you would like to receive game date and time notifications. In addition, you will receive game changes, cancellations, and results as soon as they are edited by your child’s coach on the IWA website.

When logged in, you will:

  1. Click on "Athletics" on the top navigation menu of the school website.
  2. On the left navigation menu, or within the page content, click on the desired school.
  3. Scroll to navigate to your desired team's Team Schedule page.
  4. Click the alerts icon just below the page heading.
  5. Login to manage subscriptions.
  6. Define the Alert Settings.
  7. Click the "Update Settings" button.

How do I sign up for news alerts?

When logged in, you can manage news alerts from the My Subscriptions tab for Campus News and Angels in the News articles.

To sign up for news alerts, you will:

  • Go to the My Subscriptions tab.
  • Click on the "Settings" link to the right of the News Alerts row.
  • Click on the categories of news events that interest you.
  • Click the "Update Settings" button.

How do I sign up for calendar alerts?

When logged in, any of the following calendars can be added to your Alerts Manager:

To sign up for calendar alerts, you will:

  1. Go to any of the calendar pages mentioned above.
  2. Click the alerts icon just below the page heading.
  3. Login to manage subscriptions.
  4. Define the Alert Settings.
  5. Click the "Update Settings" button.

Note: For school-specific calendars, you must click on the desired calendar to sign up for alerts.

How do I remove an alert?

When logged in, any of the following can be edited in your Alerts Manager:

To remove the alert, you will:

  1. Go to any calendar, Campus News, Angels in the News, lunch menu, or athletic team schedule page mentioned above.
  2. Click the alerts icon  just below the page heading.
  3. Login to manage subscriptions.
  4. Click the red "X" to the left of the subscription/alert.
  5. Click "OK" to confirm.
  6. The page will refresh and the subscription/alert will be gone.
